Never had a problem when I went to Vista x64/Server 2008 and then back to XP

I've never had an issue either. It still runs on the ntfs filesystem, so XP shouldn't have any issues formating the partition.

I can see going from Vista to XP on a laptop and being unable to load the raid/ahci driver for XP.
