First of all - Native resolution (UXGA = 1600X1200) has the best viewing quality because at any res other than native the system has to decide how many pixels to allot per pixel (you get my drift??)
But I have run my laptop at 1024x768 and it is great!! I dont like the quality at 1280x1024 though - lousy IMO...
800X600 is also crisp...
Now jny - about the background processes...do this to see how exactly windows is giving us all a nice backdoor service (didnt wanna use the actual words here but I am sure you understand what I mean)
ctrl+alt+del and then click the processes tab in the window that shows up.
Now you can have some fun

see all those crappy things running and using some big time memory and cpu power??
This is something you CAN control in Linux and I am hoping that, with the guidance of the peeps on this forum, I will be able to do a linux on my system. No more windows for me and screw the games...
