| | | Laptop screen size 15" 15.4" 16.1" or 17.1" ? Which is the best for a laptop gaming computer 15" 15.4" 16.1" or 17.1" ? I want like the biggest size like 17.1" but I dont think there that good with laptops.
I know it depends on the video card. I just wanted to know which screen size is the best. |

| | personally, i would say the larger the better, but that's just me. it'll be hard finding good lappys with 16" displays, as there are very few in existance and, alas, the sager 8890 and the 16" UXGA on the Alienware Areas51m have been discontinued. 17" lappys are of much higher quality IMO now. sager's, hp's, apple's, and sony's 17-inchers are probably pretty good. there are a lot of 15" lappys out there, but i would really recommend sager's UXGA on the 5690, as the majority of 15" SXGA+ screen suffer from contrast and viewing angle problems, including Sager's. some of the better ones are on the compal cl56 and the acer laptops with regular aspect SXGA+ displays (i.e. ferrari 3200). 15.4 screens are right in the middle, very nice viewing angles, wide range of resolutions (WXGA to WUXGA), and generally good color. my favorites are dell's ultrasharps, acer's 15.4 screens, and apple's 15" powerbook. basically, just go with whatever suits your budget.

| | | for all screens i like 15 inch best, just because i find larger screens bothersome and overwhelming. plus, you can usually get a high quality 15 inch for much cheaper than a normal 17. |

| | | Just depends whether you want visuals or portability. In laptops I don't really think there is a common ground as a 15" screen is not that great for gaming, and a 17" screen lappy isn't something you can easily use on your lap. |

| | | IMHO, 15.4 is the best compromise. But, if you were looking at, say, an alienware a51-m, then i would say the 16", as it redefines the word beautiful (or so i've heard).

| | I would go widescreen, because even if not all games support it, the games that do are really looking great
bigger panoramic view gives a more immersive experience to the human eye
personaly, if I had a free coupon for any laptop I wanted, screen-wise Id get a 17inch wuxga

| | | There is no discussion here. 17" WSXGA+ or 17" WUXGA is the best for gaming, especially when it's part of a Sager.

| exactly. but for those of us who don't really want something that big, a 15.4 is a great alternative. but still not as awesome.
