How long till games will start to need minimum of 2GB RAM to run?

How long till games will start to need minimum of 2GB RAM to run? I mean just to meat the minimal requirements, 1 year, 2 years? How long till 4GB?

What do you think?

at least a year, at most 4 years...it really is hard to predict these sort of things. but dont worry, 1gb or so will be plenty for a good long while

If Moore's Law also applies proportionally to ram, then it would double every 18 months or so, so it would likely be 3 more years before 2 GB is necessary considering the minimum now seems to be 512 MB.

Just think about what you people do with your computers.. Even in the future if you do the same stuff do you really think your going to need 6ghz computers with 12gb of Ram? jesus graphics can only get so good because of the human eye fps limit. And processing speed must people dont even use up about 20% of their processor's full potential
