Intel Pentuim M vs Intel Pentium 4

Hello... I am thinking of buying a laptop to play games on but I also want a laptop that is quite light-weight and portable... I heard that a Pentium M is much more light-weight and has a greater battery-life than the Pentium 4. But can the Pentium M handle games such as Doom3 and Half-life 2 when equipped with a decent graphics card ie. Geforce 6800 or ATi's X800 and a good amount of RAM? Also will it be able to handle more advanced games in the future?
If i want a laptop to play games do I have to go for a 'mobile desktop,' Pentium 4 or can i go for the light-weight Pentium M?

Any help is much appreciated...! :bouncy: :bouncy:

You will be able to find a nice PM that will do what you want. The P-M's also out perform when compared to a P4 IIRC...

what i like about the P4 is that it has 64bit and the PM no
and that makes the P4 better for future programs ect.

Both are the same basically.
P4 is for desktops
P4M is for notebooks.
A P4M 2 is equal to a P4 3.2
Actually the P4M with its 2 mb cache is better than the P4 IMHO

Some people call the Pentium Mobile a P4M. I have even seen some articles call it that as well. When he typed P4M I'm sure he was referring to the PM.

This is my 2 cents:

AMD FX 55/57 (comming soon in Clevo based systems) > P 4 6xx series > P M (stock / no overclocking) > P 4 5xx series
