Alright, got a mouse, need a mouse-pad

Any recommendations?

I just got the mouse that Zieram mentioned in the general forums (the G5) but now I need a mouse pad that will match the quality of mouse (and further enhance the laser...or something!!) -- if that's even necessary. I kinda want one with a wrist pad, because of the years of gaming, my write tends to get sore without one :P

Yeah you'll need to find a specific mouse pad for lazers. I've been trying several gaming pads and none of them work. So I'm using my desk right now. Just get a generic mouse pad or use your desk for now.

Razer Mantis/Everglide Titan. Best pad I've ever used.

Logitech or Razer.

The best of the best are the Logitech G5 and G7 and Razer's Copperhead.

The only diffrences between them are ergonomics and aesthetics. So it's entirely up to preference.

If price is an issue, Amazon's got G5's at $22 after mail in rebate. http://dealtobuy.com/s/83506072/deals.htm

mousepads depend on your mouse and personal preference. some people like resistence to their pads some like none. Logitechs can work both ways but are best with low to heavy resistence. A cloth pad would probably be best (i rec a fat-pad or dkt-pad for heavy res, qck+ pad for light) razer mice are made for quake type games are work best with no resistence in which case i highly rec an icemat (amazing, the combo is amazing) or the mantis that razer makes. for cs a good setup would be a logitech and a qck+ or other light resistence mousepad.

as far as brand there is little difference but its all about the ergonom you like. for south paws (you sit really far back almost off the end of the mouse) a razer would probably be best. If youre a regular user (palm on back fingers curled to buttons) a logitech prolly would be best. microsoft intellis are trash for gaming. as far as laser vs infared goes id still do infared with 1600 dpi. best bang for buck atm.

a wrist pad you wont find on any sort of large gaming pad which is what you want to really take advantage of the g5. id give the qck+ pad a try, its relatively cheap, and gives u light resistence but smooth gliding. I gave it a shot at cpl with a 518 and loved it.

hope that helps.
