    5660 & UT2K3 Performance

I want to ask, does UT2K3 runs smoothly on your system?
Post your resolution, graphic setting, frame rates, cpu speed etc.

    Thanks.

I usually run 800 X 600 not because I have to, but I'm just used to running that. I run with setting all on high and usually cruise around with about 50 fps where I find action. I have the 2.8 processor but I don't think anything over 2 gig for a processor will do much for graphics, it's up to the 9000 to deliver the graphics.

I have an 8886 but it has the 2.8 and the 9000 in it...
at 800x600 w/ everything maxed out (which looks darn good) the fps is always between 50-80 sometimes up in the 90's, but as I turn up the res my performance really sucks. If you look at the review for the 8886 in the review forum, Adam gets about 40+ fps at 1280x1024 but i only get around 30 for some reason, oh well, more tweakin...

Got me the 5660 (2.8Ghz, 1Gb RAM) and the UT preformance is excellent. It even runs smooth at 1600x1200 @32bit (although I consider this resolution rediculous for UT).

One thing to keep in mind: make sure you have plenty of memory. My old computer (a Duron 700Mhz, Geforce 2MX) didn't run UT2003 quite that happy with 128Mb. Since memory became cheap I inserted 1Gb RAM and guess what ... it makes the machine very usefull for playing UT2003! OK, it's no Geforce 4600 or ATI 9700... but good enough as a good spare computer when having a frag fest ...

Since one's definition of smooth varies from person to person what sort of framerates are you getting with 1600x1200 @32bit?
