    Re: The BB10 thread

When I have time, I want to see some video off the BB10 OS in action, but... from the early schtuff I saw awhile back, it strongly reminded me of the screens on the... wait for it.... Palm Pilot.

I predict this will fail as hard as Palm's WebOS and all recent Balckberry offerings.

I've watched a few and looked at some reviews, and while I'm no expert on it, they seem to have tried to straddle the line b/w WP8 and Android, with lots of Windows8-style swiping motions (too many) and slightly-larger icons. The navigation is a little funky, but I'm sure you'd get used to it quickly.

In essence, the phone is fine, but there's no differentiation. Why do you switch back to it from iOS or Android? The only reason I can find is a 'great keyboard'. yawn.

Didn't BB used to be known for secure coms? As far as I know, that's still present... although it's only as secure as THEIR servers and their group of people.. which is really no more secure than anyone else. I have to laugh that all the gov types in House of Cards use blackberrys, and they look exactly like my 3 year old Bold

Watched that video... no widgets with live data? That thing looks exactly like what it is... 2011 technology in the world of 2013.
