Have you checked out sony.com? I'm sure they're selling the US version. Or check any US game places like GameStop, EBGames, etc.

yeah they sell it in the US, my brother just got one since he doesn't wanna keep waiting for me to finish using my old school PS2... i hear that in some places though its tough to find as lot of people want it this holiday...

Are they any better than the original PS2 in terms of preformance, or is the only change the size?

I am fairly certain you can not use the harddrive in this one, and I am not sure if it has different network functionality.

You could always just get FFXI for the PC
