Now that I have played GTA for ps2, I think I should have kept the xbox and waited until May/June when they release it for xbox. Since GTA is at least 1/2 dealing the driving, the ps2 doesn't seem able to handle the graphics and game good enough when your driving fast through the city. Maybe I'm more anal about slowdown and shotty running games then the reviewers that reviewed the game, but I thought I'd at least mention it for people who are seeking more info if they should wait for the xbox version or pick up the ps2 version.

I have GTA:SA and have had to sugrically remove my eyes from the screen to stop playing and go to sleep and go to work.
The example you gave (when driving fast through the city).. I know that GTA incorporated a 'motion blur'-type effect like in NFSU and, like all the other GTA games, sometimes the PS2 can't keep up with the rendering of buildings that fast.
Also, if I remember correctly, I watched a friend of mine play the first two GTA's on his XBox and I vaguely remember seeing the same issure you're having.
Now, I may be jumping the track on this, but GTA has really never been about the graphics (that's what FFX11, etc. are for), but GTA is known for it's gameplay and storylines [however vulgar, dastardly, and cool they may be], so I don't think Rockstar made GTA:SA, or the previous two, graphically superior gaming as a high priority.
