Is anyone else disappointed with ps2 games (or system)?

This isn't really a question I need answered, I just thought I'd comment about my disappointment. I had an xbox and traded it for a ps2 after the new GTA came out. I'm disappointed with how GTA runs (seems to bog down during conjested areas). Anyway, I went with ps2 mainly for 2 other games, Mark of Kri for the new online gameplay feature and Tekken 5 because they talked up how they were going to reinvent the game and make it great again. Recently they decided to take out online/co-op from Mark of Kri, and I watched all the movies for Tekken 5 and it looks like the same garbage they gave us in Tekken 4.

I'm just complaining a bit. For those of you that have played Mark of Kri, how great would it have been to play co-op? They should have taken the extra time and delayed the game to have that feature.

I agree that the PS2 is declining. I have all three systems, but I used to buy the PS2 versions of games that came out for all three because I like the controller better. Now that I have a widescreen setup with progressive scan, I buy all games for Xbox and never play PS2 anymore. The only reason I keep it at all is so I can play the Final Fantasy games and other Square RPGs. The only reason I keep the Cube is for Resident Evil. The rest of the time is spent on the Xbox.

Yea, I owned a ps2 way back before Tekken 4 came out (pretty much got rid of it to play the first splinter cell on xbox). I think trading the xbox for a ps2 is one of those mistakes that I have to chalk up to "live and learn" I guess. Since xbox dropped in price and so low now, I may just pick one up and only use the ps2 for games exclusive to that system.

All console systems have the inherent problem of crappy resolution. After playing at 1600x1200 on a PC, playing anything at 320x240 on a TV is a huge step down in visual quality. The only exception in my personal experience was the Sega Dreamcast, which allowed an output of 640x480 VGA resolution.

With the rise of HDTV, I would expect to see a jump in the support for hi-res gaming. The XBOX supports component video out... does that actually mean that games are being drawn at higher resolution?
