RUMOR: This is what Jeremy Dunham has written as an answer, on the IGN mailbag, to a person who asked about Killzone PS3:
Quote:
I can't tell you for sure when we'll see the first in-game footage or in-game screenshot (though I wouldn't be surprised if this year's TGS would be the place). But I can tell you one thing I've heard from several people on the inside: the target footage you've seen wasn't just to blow smoke -- Guerilla really wants to achieve that level of presentation and is working diligently to do so. Also, don't expect to see it in any territory until (at the very minimum) late next year.

The game will be more focused on its online mode. Waiting for details...

remember this story? that figure was actually €21 million ($30 million) and it has only gone up from there (by gone up i mean it has doubled to €42 million/$60 million). by the time killzone 2 comes out it will dethrone shenmue as the most expensive video game ever made. the game should have cost the former figure but guerrilla's managerial lacks any sort of financial or work allocation skills, the studio has high turnover and a few other things. because of this incapacity a nice portion of the team at studio cambridge is assisting in development. to top this off the game may be pretty but it's barely mediocre and past the point of no return. the september release date floating around will without doubt be missed if guerrilla sticks to their intention of not releasing the game until its done which will be early next year.
In the Killzone PS3 forum at PlayStation® Global a poster called thedynamite007 ads a comment to the upcoming game. He says:
Quote:
Just promise us that this coming Killzone games will inject something new to the already tiresome FPS genre. We want to see something fresh which feels that you are playing a new kind of a game. Graphics, gameplay, innovation, technology etc. that should warrant the game to be called NEXT GEN.

When it was first released Sony repeated over and over that it was actual gameplay footage...
actually they said it was done "to spec" and it was the media that fed off of that one line... there was also a misunderstanding of someone commenting on the trailer from Sony but turnsout he was talking about Resistance Fall of Man
this is all that matters now:
Quote:
"With Killzone, the expectation internally and externally is very high - and I won't show it until it's going to exceed people's expectations. It will be next year before we show it again, but it's coming along very well. The teams are working very hard, they know exactly what they have to do and there's no doubt they will achieve it, but there's nothing to be served by something that doesn't satisfy my goals for the project. I can tell you, though, that some elements already exceed the trailer."
but of course everything Sony says should be laughed at,,, and Microsoft is the guilt free one
