PSP 2.0 Update (Finally) Released

The long awaited PSP Update is now availble here from Sony: http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP.as...te/pc_200.html ... or you can connect your psp wirelessly to the internet and get it that way.

Updated Features:

An Internet browser has been added.

4:3 Screen Mode has been added (for video saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media). More
Go To feature has been added (for UMD™VIDEO and UMD™MUSIC). More
A-B Repeat feature has been added (for UMD™VIDEO, UMD™MUSIC and video saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media). More
Audio options have been added (for video saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media).
MP4 (AVC) has been added as a playable file format (for video saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media).

The combination of SonicStage™ version 3.2 (or later) and PSP™ system software 2.00 (or later) has made it possible for music files in ATRAC3 plus™ format to be transferred to a Memory Stick PRO Duo™.
MP4 (the audio codec for MP4 format audio files is MPEG-4 AAC) and WAV (Linear PCM) have been added as playable file formats (for music saved on Memory Stick Duo™ media).

Wallpaper feature has been added. More
Image transfer feature has been added. More
TIFF, GIF, PNG and BMP have been added as viewable file formats.

Korean has been added as a system language in [System Settings]. More
[Character Set] has been added in [System Settings]. More
[Theme Settings] has been added. More
[Internet Browser Start Control] has been added as a security mode in [Security Settings]. More
WPA-PSK (TKIP) has been added as a security mode in [Network Settings].
Web address shortcut feature has been added as an input mode for the on-screen keyboard

The only PSP update I'm waiting for, is the one where Sony drops the price on the thing.

Yes the much anticipated update has finally arrived. I couldn't believe the mass hysteria that took place over at the Playstation forums when the update was postponed!

Worth all the hype? My verdict is still not yet in. I played around with the web browser...better than the old PDA offering but not quite there. Speedy enough, graphics are awesome but navigation is a bit laborious.

The wallpaper feature is neat (if your 15 and like to post pics of Hillary Duff as one Playstation member said was his biggest goal) and the 4:3 video is sweet but can't say I use the PSP much for MP3's so I haven't yet even looked at features that would benefit me in that area.

All in all I think it makes the PSP a well-rounded gadget for the traveler, student and self-proclaimed geek like myself but I doubt it will spur sales and something tells me that I will find myself putting the PSP aside for another handheld in the future that offers, per chance, a few more games to make it worth the spendy price tag.

ok, how the hell do you get the browser to work? It will NOT load anything. I tried hardforum, this forum, forums.gamespot.com and aol.com and only the title loads. Says "not enough memory" or it freezes. I hate it so far. I dont know how to tweak it to get the pages to load??? help!

disable internet queqe in settings or something like that, i read it fixes the not enough memory error

This is ideal for those who have not already upgraded to 1.52 and/or those who do not intend to purchase any games or UMD's produced after the 2.0 upgrade which will, of course, require 2.0.

The great homebrew debate will most likely always be a raging inferno among PSP owners...I just wasn't that into it to give up the advantages of the upgrade. And I am so enjoying the browser!
