| King Kong on PSP Just finished it, had a few free hours tonight since I offered to be "The Driver" for a few people this year and decided to stay away from the drink I would just play this.
Skull Island takes up 85% of the game, they really left just a little bit to do in New york - that is a shame as it could have been much better if there was more to do in NY.
Game does not follow the movie dead on, but close enough.
The skull Island section is almost like two games, you have a FPS where you are trying to rescue the girl and a third person fighter almost like a 3D mortal kombat when you are Kong.
Graphics are great except for issue where textures meet and leave a white line and some occassional texture tears. This does not take away from the gameplay at all. Aiming system is a bit difficult. Hardest part on Skull Island is walking planks over canyons and remembering you have to burn bushes to get past sections (its so thick you have to burn it to get past it, but you have to find a spear and fire to do so, then back track).
Controls are good, Kong in New York was a bit difficult in one tiny section and some of the comabt scenes with Kong were a bit frustrating. Kongs reactions and movement is unreal; he looks real in the way he moves and acts on the screen as you control him.
repaly: there is some, you can replay for a score and if you get to a certain level you will unlock a secret section. If that was not there then there would be no replay value at all.
Sound: Perfect except when breaking through fences in NY, heard some static during those scenes.
I got the game at CC for $37 and don't regret it at all. If I paid the full $50 I might not have been as happy with it.
Very surprised how quick it ended once I was in NY.... final comabt with airplanes were as good as it could have been; but we know how this one ends. |
