For those that dont know yet, there are now several emulators that play on the PSP. :bouncy:
1. Gameboy Color Emu
2. NES Emu
3. SNES Emu!
All of these are relatively new and need some more optimization, but they are a huge step in the right direction. This is one of the reasons why I bought the PSP initialy. Unfortunately, these emulators only run on PSPs with firmware version 1.0, which were never released in the US.
Some of you might be asking how this benefits anybody without a 1.0 PSP and the answer is pretty simple. Now that these are done and are getting optimized, when the time comes and somebody finds a way to make them run on 1.5 PSPs, they will be done already.
At this point it is still hard to recognize Sony's stance on hombrew devs, as the new "forced updates" that have emerged seem to be a countermeasure against piracy. There was some news about Sony releasing a stripped down dev kit, but who knows if that will happen or not. Sony would be stupid to neglect this community that wuld embrace the PSP and make it bigger than anything that Nintendo has had.
