Age of empires III? A joke?

Well, I just tried the demo, so correct me if these are in the full version.

But there is no auto explore and no idle citizen button?

Are you kidding?

There is an idle, a banner comes down on the top left of a citizen when one or more is idle and clicking it takes you t him/her. Or you can press "."

Auto-explore... no, but off the top of my head I can't remember if any had that. I don't want the game to play itself for me, so its no biggie for me. I will check to see if the Scouts have an explore command and post again.

Graphics are better on the full, The origianl demo I had it cranked to max and no issues, the full version I had to take it down a notch. Look better, sounds better, plays better than the demo.

Ahhh, okay.

Thanks!

I guess they sure did cut some stuff out of the demo, and the only microsoft game with "auto explore" is RON, and I found it really useful. Oh well... It's always nice to have, the fact you could either have it on or off, whichever would fit your preference.

I played RON, and it rocked! The only downside is that it didn't have a storyline to follow like the AOE series. The Risk-style conquest mode is fun though.

I played the AOE3 demo when it first came out, and I was totally unimpressed. The final product is probably better, but still... MS has so much money I thought they'd be able to release at least a decent demo w/o bugs. For Pete's sake, in the first demo the monks walk sideways while floating in the air! And where did the save button go?

I played the demo too and I was like, okay it is the same as AOEII with better graphic at a different point in history, that's it. I wish there was more variety in buildings and technology than the usual barrack, stable with armory.

Home cities seem to be the major point of distinction in the new game.

the final is MUCH better than the demo

the story is kinda lame, but its pretty consistent. i was hoping it would be more historically accurate though. otherwise, the game kicks ass.

RON is a good game, but waay too much micro - waaay to many options. Get's too complicated and confusing.
