| | | RTS Suggestions? I am planning to start playing some RTS games again and would liek to have some suggestions and commenst about the latest and greatest RTS around at this time.
The only RTS that really stood above it all for me is Supreme Commander BUT that is not due until soemtime next year
I think I still have WC3 somewhere in my desk but want to try soemthing else.
I also have Civ4 soemwhere for my turn based strategy.
I noticed that Star Wars: Empire at War has a decent rating and review in Gamespot and also due an Xpack later this year.
Wondering what everyone else thinks about it.
Really want a fun and complex strategy game that is good in single player and MP.
Good SP is more important to me at this time as I may have to pause abruptly while I am playing here at work :lolatyou:
So anyone has any suggestions/comments/etc on a nice RTS to play?

| | | I would suggest the New WarHammer game for PC. Although I also heard that has some high min reqs (although your sig shows you should be able). Also I heard the new Command and conquer games (Generals, and Zero Hour{expansion to generals}). |

| | | I assume he means Warhammer 40k. Which is quite the good suggestion, as it has good ratings, the demo was cool, and my friend loves it. Alas, its not quite playable (enough) on my computer. I noticed you commented in the other thread, but I can't remember if you played Total Annihilation. If not, try it. It's great. Do you want the absolute latest games? I still play Age of Mythology, which is quite fun. Good luck with your search.

| | Thanks guys.
I wanted to play an RTS with more updated GFX.
So I decided to buy Star Wars: Empire at War - Collectors Ed. from Newegg and should be here today or tomorrow
Should be nice addition for the games I have while I await Supreme Commander and other games soon to be released.

| | | Bfme Check out Battle for Middle Earth II.
I was actually going to post and see if anyone else is having fun with this right now. Great engine, and if you are into the LotR it is pretty much a dream come true.
Honestly I wish it was more like the Total War series than it is, but even with the RTS trappings it's great fun. There is also the "War of the Ring" mode which has a turn-based strategic game, but I have yet to really play it.
I'm not sure why this didn't get mentioned in this thread before now - From what I can tell it is the most popular RTS out there at the moment.

| | | Are there a bunch of you folks playing Empire at War? I was wanting to meet some other sR folks other than those I play BF2 with. How is the multiplayer interface? I played the demo of this and thought it looked pretty neat but have not picked it up.
And I'm also interested in the new Warhammer game. I never quite got into the miniatures version - played it using other peoples' figures but could never get into spending the money and time it took to build up an actual army. I remember Dark Omen being really fun at the time, and have played all of the games that have come out under the name, both turn-based and real-time. Dawn of War was really fun to watch/play with the great over-the-top animations and sound.
afaik the fantasy Warhammer game (Mark of Chaos) is scheduled for release this Fall (2006).
