What GPU for AOE:III?

hey guys, age of empires 3 can run on my comp, but sometimes it lags etc, and i wanna buy a new GPU for my PC. right now i am using the onboard GPU. ok my specs are, 2.66 Pentium D Dual Core, 1gb ram. i am looking for a GPU. all i do on the pc is play CS and now AOE III and its expansion pack, i am looking for a low budget graphics card that can paly AOE comfortably! can ppl plz gimme sum model names, i wanna spend as low as possisble, but it has to run comforatbly! thanks guys!

anything with 64 MB of video ram or higher.. i would recommend at least a 128 MB card if not a 256.

Maybe an X1800 or nvidia equivalent 7800 GTX if you can find one

yea, well i need an answer in say 4-5 hours,, cos ijsut go homr from work(work from 2am-7am) and i will go out aorund midday(austrlaian time) and buy the grpahics card. so yea, i need to find a GPU in 5 hours ???

My forum times are all messed up and I'm too lazy to fix it so I don't know if this will be a timely response, but... I use an eVGA 6800GT and it plays quite well, even on high settings at 1680x1050. It gets around 25-30fps but on an RTS like that it looks just fine (in an FPS that would be unnacceptable to me). Oddly enough, I played a crapload of AOE III skirmishes over the weekend, and hadn't played in like 9 months .

also, can any graphics card fit in any motherboard? i have the dual core pentium and thus dual core motherboard just to inform u all, need a reply ina bout 2 hours max!

all new motherboards support pci-e... they don't make AGP graphic cards anymore. (well at least from a gaming perspective)
