Need help with a Civ 3 error

Can anybody explain to me why on Earth I keep getting an error message when I try to play Civilization 3 Complete? This is the "error detail" stuff-

I looked up the code, and got a lot of people saying they knew what it was (permission settings error), but couldn't fix it

Hey Djembe....I'm not a whiz at reading os error codes but TimePilot understands that stuff fluently. Run it by him...looks to be hardware related tho

thanks Craig, will do. I thought it might be hardware-related at first as well, but I ran memtest and my memory's fine, checked CPU voltage stability (fine), all other games run fine, so vid card and CPU aren't malfunctioning, hard drive SMART is fine, DVD drive works fine, etc. and so it's got to be software, although I'm not sure what. Dr. Watson showed no program conflicts, either.
