Sins of a Solar Empire!

Just got this, as I've been watching its development for a while. I'm a big fan of Galactic Civilizations, and this is a real-time game on a similar scale. Looks absolutely great so far, and is likely the true successor to Homeworld.

Anyone else playing this yet?

It brings in a lot of the interface improvements that Supreme Commander provided. The level of polish is really apparent, as you get into it. I haven't had a ton of time in-game yet, but the initial hours show great promise.

If you liked the space battle part of Empire at War, this has a similar feel. I know some of you liked Empire at War in general but thought the land battle part was lacking.

The modding potential for this game is also pretty stupendous. I'll be looking for a bunch of mods based on existing Sci-Fi universes. The template provides by the developers is very easy to work with and tweak. Again, first glance, as I just picked this up last night.

some guy was raving about this being maybe game of the year 2008 (say him in January lol) on the 1UP EGM Podcast so it might be alright, i havent checked out anything about it
