Modern Stratigies any good?

Alrighty guys, well, i'm wondering.

I'm looking to buy a good game, i'm looking into strategy.

I LOVE the C&C series, own them all, so am wondering to get act of war?

Also, I like the AOE and RON type games (also known them) but have played them a lot

I own EE I but am wondering to upgrade to EEII it's THAT big of a difference?

I like something that is realistic really, and when a game focuses on a certain time period, it seems to be FAR more realisitic.

Share you opinions my fellow forumers....

I've been playing Rise of Nations for a while and had been looking for a new strategy game. I was going to get Act of War then realized Madden comes out in a few days, so I've just gone back to playing C&C Generals:Zero Hour for now. The next one I will probably get will be Age of Empires III or Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends when they come out.

I recommend Galactic Civilizations - a very good, highly polished, turn based strategy set in space. What makes it really stand out from other games is its very competent and competitive AI.
