Dungeon Siege 2 Problem [ = ( ]

Ok, i havent played ds2 for 2 weeks cause of this problem, when whenever i start the game, the splash screen pops up but the game doesnt actually start. My comp is a brand new XPS gen 2, 2 gigs of ram, pentium m 2.13 ghz, nvidia 6800 go ultra, and plenty of hd space, so i think this is not because of a hardware issue. If anyone else here plays DS2, and knows something about this problem, please help! : :saywhat:

It can't be a hardware problem if my Dell Precision M70 ran it just fine (I just had the demo).
Patch it up.
I had something like this happen when I first installed the LoA expansion for DS1 on my desktop. I fixed the problem by uninstalling, cleaning up the hard drive (getting rid of installer logs and such), and then downloading the patch for it before I reinstalled. When you reinstall, run the patch (I think it's v. 1.2) before you reboot the first time, then clean everything up again. If it still doesn't work, um, email Microsoft or something.
