Guild Wars...

Hi All,

I have just purchased Guild Wars (should arrive tomorrow from Amazon) on advice of one of my mates. Just wondered if there are any other Guild Wars players out there ?

Can someone let me know if guild wars would run on high settings for my setup? (see my sig below). I'm planning to get this game also. Thanks

I play too.

Yeah, it'll run on high settings, probably at native resolution, on the z70va. I have a somewhat older setup, and it runs at near-max settings for me.

Hey led

I have been playing with a z70va exact same specs as yours except with 2GB RAM and on high settings. I also have my CPU undervolted and GPU overclocked. My CPU runs about 10C less than it did before, and this is not at max undervolting potential.

Shandy,

I have been playing lately char name same as logon here...

I haven't played in a few weeks. Really messed up work schedule. I like the game a lot though. It can be frustrating if you try playing with ome of the jackasses that are there though.

I haven't been playing as much as I would like, and I know what you mean by the jackasses (I call em asshats, but it amounts to the same thing). Problem is you will run into anyone meeting the criteria of jackass/asshat playing any online game. Then nice thing is if you are lucky to get into a guild that has people who you like to play with and are willing to help out other guild members. When I am playing I spend half my time helping out new guildmates (as I am a officer of my guild) getting used to the game and the idea of working with other people. I am also well known in my guild for giving out awsome items to new guildmates as I have 2 characters that have pretty much finished the game (just have some main bonus missions and little side quests to do for total completion). Anyway I love the game and wish I had more time to play.

Excellent game. I highly recommend it. I call it World of Warcraft "Lite" and there's a lot to be said for it in that respect. Faster respawning. HIGHLY solo-able. I made it to max level (20) totally solo (using AI henchmen of course), without the need for bonehead grouping. I haven't made it to all areas or quests by a lonnnnng shot, and since they get much more difficult, human grouping will be needed to significantly progress further. As most experience with ANY online game, 2 of the 3 or 4 groups I've tried since maxing were disappointing. The no-fee in GW vs. fee in WoW has been beaten to death in another thread here, but it's a nicety to not have a monthly fee sitting there when you want to take a long sabbatical. As with WoW, I personally find that the chase is better than the catch, i.e. once you max level a lot of the "shine" is off the game, even though there are more quests, weapons, and loot to be acquired. Anyhoo, go for it, it's lots of fun.
