| Started the 7 day Free trial the other day.... Granted I had to turn the graphics down a decent bit, so I'm not able to comment on that feature, but overall, I found the UI to be very limiting and frustrating. It wasn't as bad as Dungeon Seige II, but I found it frustrating enough. It felt like I was having to look through the world with blinders on. City of Heroes spoiled me rotten as far as UI goes.
In general, DnD Online seemed like a bit of a mid-level MMORPG. It's not particularly "slick", things like loot drops are not too obvious, and the environment feels too restricted (Dungeon Seige would be "very restriced", Star Wars Galaxies would be "hardly restricted".
Combat demands more of the user- you have to be facing your target to actually hit it; your character won't auto-turn to fire at your target.
To me it seemed there was little more to the game than finding a team, getting missions, and killing mobs. If that's the case, I'd much rather play City of Heroes- the UI is superior.
I'm being a little harsh on the game, I know that, but I think it's justified. I was disappointed.
note: I played EQII for the first time the night following my DnD Online time, and I found it to be more agreeable UI-wise. It also felt less restricted and more "polished".
