Oblivion sound issue

I tried the Oblivion forums and they're moving so fast that nothing is getting answered. Here's whats happening: I have the volume turned up all the way through my audio controls on windows. I have the volume turned up in game. The opening plays at normal sound, but when I start the game it gets so quiet I can barely hear it. So I get out of the game and notice that the wave volume is all the way down in my volume controls. I turn it back up, restart the game, and it turns itselfback down again. I've updated all of the Realtek drivers. No other games do this. Any suggestions on the next step?

Realtek drivers? Onboard Audio? If thats the case, make sure your motherboard drivers are up to date ... Forceware/VIA - whichever you use. Keep searching those forums for tech help. Try some other Elder Scrolls website forums as well.
