Obilivion Problem

Hey guys been playing for about a week a hour or two a day and Today in the middle of my game it started to artifact and my FPS dropped from 30~40 to 3 and then nothing but on big Artifact on the screen any on else having this problem?

PM 2.0
1 gig Ram
72k drive
6800go

No overclock this is the only game that is having a problem so far. Max temps CPU 56c GPU 74c

XPS-2 here 6800 ultra no not yet. 1 gb ram as well

Had that problem once. After some waiting I could save, exit and get back in. Hasnt happened ever since.
Curiously enough, it was the only time when I used the "continue" function instead of the "load" function in the games menue.

my problem happens alot sooner, i think my memory is just FUBAR.

Its seems to be a rare occassion I would just give it a restart and see if it happens again-if so check drivers and also this is a great site for help optimising- http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_1.html check it out it may have some helpful tweaks.


Side question where do some of you get the pics for your siggy like yours 40oz SLURPEE?

I get a big block that is 2 inches square and sits smack dab in the center of my screen covering the guys face during the intro movie. this section of the screen and sometimes the bottom right hand portion of the screen lag WAY behind the rest of the video. all of the video plays smoothly except for the center block and the bottom righthand portion of the screen (bottom right hand area often turns black). after the video i can start a new game and begin to configure my character and i get an oblivion.exe failure popup and the game kicks me to the desktop. I tried some tweaks,i found on the oblvion forums hopefully they work. I know my system can play it.

New problem people that I need for quest arn't there the count of skingrad just dissappeard I need him for two quest "cure vampiresism" and "mages guild quest" and its like he just dissappeared from the game. WTF do I do now?
