I just wondered what peoples opinions of this game were from the articles on it, and if you all are going to give it a try. From IGN's article, it sounds like they borrowed a lot from WoW, (or the core that WoW created it from) but did it better. The writer of the article seemed to enjoy the beta so far. I watched the videos for this game, and they seemed very lame...but they might have just been lame movies/gameplay.

From the movies I watched it looked very bland. They didn't show magic at all (I'm not even sure how much there is in the world), and they didn't show to many player moves. It might be that they were playing with lower level characters, who knows. *shrug*

If it reviews good, I'll probably end up getting it to feed my MMO addiction. I'm not sure if it will be better then WoW, but it's always good to mix it up a bit and try a new game.

I tried downloading the stress test but it was 3gigs and it was taking too long. I am looking forward to Warhammer for my next mmorpg.

I have the beta for this game and it looks like its still VERY VERY BETA stage. I went out and got the pre order for the special pre orderers pricing or w/e. Any other beta testers out there that have had better expierence with the game? Sadly enough if they dont improve I think WoW will still beat them out.

I think there's a larger contingent of POSSIBLE gamers for this one, even than WoW. With the millions of people familiar with LOTR, you have a wide audience to appeal to, and to hook into your sinister MMORPGroflbbq talons.

Another MMO I have yet to try is Guild Wars. I'm not sure why I didn't buy this one to try it out. I think I was into WoW and CoH/CoV pretty heavy when it was released. I may pick it up to try out for a few weeks. I've heard mixed reviews, some people love it and some hate it big time. One of those that I'll have to try and see I guess. Anyone have any good/bad thoughts on that one?

I've been a long time fan of LotR since my first encounters with the Hobbit, as a child...

I played the beta for less than a day...

Wouldn't pay a wooden nickel for even a 30 day trial...

Totally catered to children...

With the "lifetime subscription" preorder offer, it appears that even the designers of the game are predicting it's failure, and are gearing totally for peak release sales...

An unfortunate smear to a great name in fantasy...

**The fellowship take to long flights of stairs that
are starting to crumble and fall. Orks shoot at them
with arrows.

**The fellowship crosses a bridge, Gandalf stops to
confront the balrog

it and causing it to break under the Balrog's weight

**Frodo goes off looking for firewood, Boromir follows
and confronts him
