Eve On-line CAS Combat Day

I am holding an event in Eve online for the CAS (Center for Advanced Studies) corp. CAS is the starter corp for every player that chooses the Gellente race and selects industry as their profession. I needed a somewhat removed forum to post info and keep intrested players informed of the status of CAS Combat Day. CAS Combat Day is where a bunch of new player gather up and explore PvP combat in Eve. PEW PEW PEW for everyone. If as a StrafeRight member your intrested in participating your can. Follow this link and do a 21 day trial though Steam for Eve On-line.

Be sure to chose a Gallente Industry character and that they are in CAS. Only CAS pilots for this event.

To get on the CAS Combat Day mailing list do this...

Open Channels and Mailing Lists. Then click on the Mailing Lists tab. then click Join and type in CAS Combat Day and you will be added to the list.

Haya's!

Sorry for the long delay in geting info out about this event. Valentine's is the busiest week for work for me. I am still in recovery mode but, I wanted to get this all started.

What is CAS Combat Day?

The plan is to get as many CAS members as possable and take everyone into 0.0 to see some ships blow up... Hopefully other people's ships, not ours.

Date: Tuesday March 4th
Time: 1900 - 0700

Why a tuesday? I work weekends and since I am the coordinator and spnsor I would like to be there. Why the long times? I will have the whole day off so I can keep the event going for as long as possable for as many timezones as possable. You don't have to be there for the entire event, but I should be there the whole time. Have a cooler for the food next to the computer and a bucket for... other things on the other side....

The Plan

We will be following the Hydra Principal as layed out on the www.agony-unleashed.com Web site. Check out the PvP University information and the lower left of their home page. Read those FAQ's to get a basic understanding of what C-CAS Day is about.

A short discreption is a large number of frigates sawming over and taking down a larger target. We will be flying in a fleet of frigates. Cheaply fitted frigates I might add.

Everyone particapating should bring 2 frigates + fittings to the staging system. Remember "don't bring what you can't afford to lose.". Numbers bring more firepower then a single ship's fittings. Make sure you don't go broke.

I plan to have some replacement ships (and fittings) stashed in the 0.0 region we will be flying in to cover replacements lost along the way. Remeber to insure your ships!

JUMP CLONES!!!

I am setting up a pilot to make escort runs to EC-P8R, Freeport Tortuga Station. Anyone can get Jumpclones there for 100,000ISK. The Torrinos Gate to the system is heavly camped so I will be taking everyone the back way. I will post when the escort service will be up and running. You will need Infomorph Psychology to level 1 to get a clone. I would suggest level 2 so you can get 2 clones. Fly your skill clone back out and at a later date jump to your new clone to move it. Read Grismar's EVE Wiki: Jump clones for more inforamtion on Jumpclones.

Read the Agony-unleashed info and figure out which ships are best for your skills. If you do have Caldari Firgates trained we could use you in a Griffin. ECM is the best Electronic Warfare out there and the Griffin is the best ship for it.

Jumpclones

Operation Jumpclone is up and running.

We will be getting clones frm the station in EP-C8R. I have a pilot station in system to check for gate camps. If it is clear it's no problem but if a camp is up there may be some delays. Send me an Eve-mail if you need a clone. If I am on line let me know your heading to Torrinos. That is the drop off station to EC-P8R. Set your auto pilot to fly there and be sure to set your travel settings to perfer safer. Have Infomorph Psychology trained to at least level 1 so you can get a clone.

Prep

Be sure to have a 2 frigate class ships ready for the event. You can fit 2 Giant Secure Containers in an Iteron III with expanders. Put the ship in a contianer with fittings and ammo and they can be easly set up at the destination. You should be able to purchase ships at the rally point but they will cost a bit more. Rally point will be announced the day of. If your in Gallente space you shouldn't be too far from the rally point.

Rememeber to read the Agony Unleashed PvP university FAQ's. Especialy the ship fitting guide. I would recomend bringing one E-War ship and an appropriate combat ship to the rally point. Don't forget spare drones and ammo. remember to Insure those ships.

Even more important. UPDATE your clone. You don't want to lose skill points so keep your clones updated.

Voice Coms

We will be using voice coms to run the fleet. It is not practical to try a fleet op using chat. You do not have to have a mic but you do need to join the com channel. We will use Eve Voice, it's free with Eve. All you have to do is rightclick the Fleet tag in the chat window and select "join audio". A small red bar will appear on the Fleet tag and you will be on the audio channel.

New event info for April starts here.

It's that time again. CAS Combat Day is back in action. So good you have to do it twice.

CAS-C Day II, April 16th 1800 hours Eve time

CAS-C Day III, April 22nd 1800 hours Eve time

All CAS members are welcome. Wether your 1 day, 1 month or 1 year old. Come on along. For New CAS Combat Day mailing listers here is a link to that infor for the last event.

Eve On-line CAS Combat Day

Everything would be the same accept for a few things in this eve-mail.

- Jump Clones. EC-P8R has been taken over by a new alliance. They have kept the jump clone service up but, have had a near 23/7 gate camp preventing anyone for getting to the station. A check just a few minutes ago showed no gate camp, so it might still be possable to do this. There is a back way thought low sec as well that I have not yet explored. Contact me and we will see what we can do.

- On the first CAS-C Day we were a bit lithgt on pilots. We had too few pilots to make a frigate fleet work. Since attendance is an unknown I decided we should open it up to Cruisers as well as frigates. If you want to bring a BC, that is fine as well but expect to be the primary target and tank for it.

- I have some supplies on hand in the base station and am in the process of getting more. If your intrested in helping you can donate fittings. Lower teir named modules are ideal. They don't cost much and are a bit of an improvemnet over basic T1. Contact me if you have stuff to donate and we can arrange a pick-up.

That is all for now. Just want to get the dates out there so everyone can plan ahead.
