running higher than max resolution in games??

i have a uniwill 258ka0 .. so the screen is 1280x800 wxga


.. what if say i want to play a game and run it at 1600x1200.. would that be possible.. cuz lots of games dont have 1280x800 widescreen as a resolution option..

so am i stuck with running stretched 1024x768 ... or can i run say 1280x1024... will that damage the screen..

good thing hl2 has 1280x800 widescreen.. heh..

Nope, you can not run games at a resolution higher than that which is the native resolution of the screen, in your case, WXGA (1280 x 800).

Some games can be tweaked to run at widescreen resolutions
