I managed to get in on the beta for
World of Warcraft, and all i can say is, save up your lunch money cuz this thing kicks ass. There are still some rough edges (it is Beta, and not due for public release for months), but the core gameplay is great. Best of all, Blizzard staff have been highly interactive with us, taking our feedback seriously, and just plain doing a good development job. The world is immense, seamless and huge and the possibilities for character development are deep. I havn't played a mmorpg since the old text-based MUDDS, so I don't have much in the genre to compare it too, but I like it! I was a big fan of the Warcraft series as well, and it is truly awe-inspiring to see an immense 3-d "Altar of Storms" towering above you, or the massive city of Undead underneath the ruins of Lordaeron Castle. Warcraft fans will delight.
