Does the iPhone take a sim card or is there another way you have to activate it?

Yes the iPhone uses a SIM card. As is ATT's standard.

actually the sim in the iPhone is much larger then the standard issue 3g sim card they are giving out with AT&T phones.

wow im sorry for never responding. my comp kinda took a spill and it took a few months for me to fix....(too lazy) but i ended up with a 3g thanks tho
