Sennheiser Rebate

I noticed today that there's a decent mail-in rebate on Sennheiser headphones (not headsets unfortunately though). Basically buy a set of headphones, then trade-in an old pair of crap headphones you have lying around and get $5-50 back (depending on which model Sennheisers you purchase).

More specifically, I was thinking that this would make it a great time to buy a set of either an HD 555, 595 or even 650. Pair any of those with a Zalman ZM-MIC1 and you'd be good to go.

I also believe the HD 595 and HD 650 sets have come down in price a bit (check J&R), and the HD 555 has remained somewhat steady. You can check out the rebate form below (the attachment), but if you buy a pair of Sennheisers I'd grab the rebate form from the purchase site.

I have a pair of audio-technica ATH-CM700Ti (ear-buds) and ATH-M50 (studio monitors), and I love them both...the three companies I'd recommend are audio-technica, sennheiser, and shure (for their canalphones)...I had an old pair of Sony clip-on headphones, and never found them comfortable for too long (but these audio-technia's that you linked to might be different)...

I've tried canalphones and I personally don't like them, but I know a lot of people swear by them, so you might want to look at a pair of Shure SE210's in that price range...to sum up, I think audio-technicas are very good, just not sure of that form factor...

and so we're all on the same page...

Headphones: over the ear or on the ear traditional earphones
Headset: over the ear or on the ear traditional earphones with a boom mic
Earbuds: small earphones that fit within the lobe of the ear
Canalphones: even smaller earphones that are pushed into the ear canal (creating sound isolation)

I have the older version of these... and they are bulletproof. I've been using them for at least 2+ years. Although they are in a completely different area in terms of sound and price than what you are looking at Coffee.
