    Why the aliases?

So I've been wondering long enough, and now I'm tryin to figure out why.

What's up with everyone using so many aliases? FWIW, I like jumping into the server after work & seein peeps like YD, sigh, Hunter, Duke (wtf has Zeiram been?), etc...

Maybe you guys are still playing, and I just don't know it. For instance, I knifed someone, under an alias, the other night who (I think was an admin/top 20 player) and got an admin message from, you guessed it, someone else under an alias. It's like playing with a bunch of strangers

I know why I do aliases. I suck under pressure, and if I have some good rounds under VV, I'll drop to a low profile name because I know my luck's going to change and it keeps it fun to play even though I'm 1 & 15 (alright, so it aint that much fun at that point).

But why do you guys at the top of the ladder do it? Just for fun? Get tired of the same old name? Like to hoorang us low lives and get away with it? LOL

    thoughts?

Personally I do it in the name of fair and pleasurable gaming

People tend to play, act and talk different when they know an admin is on .... not to mention it's great for catching or getting called a hacker
I see your blood and smell your fear, I will find you.

I'll always have the same name unless I'm drunk/high.

 On the other side of my rant, it is kinda fun trying to guess who someone is. what I do when I'm suspicious is hit the top10 or so and see if anyone's name in the game matches up on the list. Then the goal is try to remember who used to be in that slot. lol :dance2:

I think I could make a board game based on this

If you really must know who someone is, you can look it up on the stats page pretty easily.

I'm not sure how fast the stats update, but you could theoretically get to that stuff through motd while actually playing.. lol. but that's too much work for me

I have seen JC change his name alot based on the fact on what Hunter said, people tend to act differently, and alot of hackers already know all the admins, and they know when to turn hacks on and off. So it does help, and on the other hand, it is fun trying to figure it out.
    Mum. over and out.
