    Quake 2 with intel graphics

    Hi,

As you can guess from the notebook in my sig, I'm not much of a gamer. The only real game I play is quake 2, but it runs really bad on my notebook, I get this annoying pause every time I fire. You think a new notebook would be able to run a old game like that. Can some one help.

Oh man I love quake2!!!! Its one of my all time favorite games ever. Well anyways have you tried updating your drivers? Also what mode are you running in OpenGL or Software? Is that 16mb shared? If it is maybe try increasing the allocated memory in your BIOS. Other then that I could think maybe try software mode, prolly not as pretty as OpenGL but with a processor that fast it should run nice and smooth.

Quake 2 is a great game, yes that is shared video memory, and I'm running in OpenGL. I updated the drivers, and switched to software (which crashed quake 2). I'm going to try to increase the video memory, but I look in the bios and theres nothing there about it.
