    XPS m1710 and Source

So I moved up from my m170 to my new m1710

    went from:
    2.0 centrino 2mb cache
    2gb 533mhz Ram
    80 GB 5400RPM
    256mb 6800 ultra

    to:
    2.0 centrino Duo
    2gb 667mhz
    80 gb 7200RPM
    512mb go 7900 GTX

Now my question is, why do i see little or not improvement in FPS in the game, just a minor quality improvement and thats it..... i see in net_graph 3 that my FPS average is around 75 :furious:

my 6800 ultra my average was 60ish

is there some tweaking i should do that i don't know about.... both PC's are compared and Max settings......

You'll be able to run with AA on now at full resolution

    That's a big upgrade.

other than updating graphic card drivers, no idea. try running 3d mark so you can compare it with your older laptop.

The only real upgrade that will significantly affect gaming is the video card change. With this older single thread game, the processors will act about the same...

I would imagine your 3dMark05 scores have only improved about 25% or a little more so I'm not sure what you were expecting...
