    Far Cry freezing

Has anyone had lock-up/freezes while running either of the two Far Cry demos? I'll be playing them and there's a sudden, loud, piercing whine followed a bunch of static (almost like from a 56K modem), and then everything freezes up. It seems to happen most often while the character is swimming. I can't figure out if it's my notebook or just some flaw in the demo.

Have you checked how hot your gpu gets while playing far cry?
Because mine gets much hotter than other games like UT04 and battlefield.

Maybe the system crashes because the gpu gets too hot.

Interesting thought, Dennis. I've definitely noticed hotter temps with Far Cry compared to UT2004, Max Payne 2, and others. You're probably right.

I cant even get it to run. The demo makes my computer reboot. Weird? Ive already decided maybe im not that interested in the game after all. Does look good thought, if someone can get it to run.

I have that same "I can't get the damn thing to run" problem with XIII. It's also from UbiSoft, which makes me question the quality of their games.

with my 5670, i have to bump down the settings ALL the way to get it to even run. It wont even load with anything above that, or at least on the first level demo. The second level demo can load, but messes up after a few seconds.

I think it's got a lot of potential. It seems to be kinda like a combination of two movies: Commando meets The Island of Dr. Moreau.
