    Official TF2 Blog

The TF2 devs recently made an official TF2 blog, saying that they wanted a better way to talk to the community about some of the changes to TF2 and their reasoning behind them.

The first post was about the Pyro's new Flare Gun and how they decided on the look of it.

The latest post is about the healing rates of the Medic's Medigun.
Quote Originally Posted by Robin Walker
The rate of healing actually ramps up based on the amount of time since the heal target was last injured. If it's been greater than 10 seconds since the target was hurt, the heal rate is increased. The amount of increase ramps linearly up to 3 times the base heal rate at 15 seconds since the target was hurt. So if you're healing a target who's been hurt less than 10 seconds ago, you'll only be getting the base heal rate of 24 health a second. If the target was hurt 12.5 seconds ago, you'll be healing at 48 health a second. If the target hasn't been hurt for over 15 seconds, you'll be getting the maximum heal rate of 72 health a second.
I will update this thread as the devs post more to the blog, but be sure to give it a read at Team Fortress 2.

Damn, that's cool information. And if I'm not mistaken, that's the same character who does a hell of a lot of the Developer Commentary; HL2 Episodes, Lost Cost, Portal, etc etc. Smart guy

I hit it, so it's tapped.

about the heal rate, does that mean to heal someone quicker, they should possibly retreat more often and look for a medic? If a medic is right there, no one waits more than 10 seconds to heal someone asking for it.

did you really just ask if Bo has his cwp?

he shot his name into the application form from 1000 yards... while on a Segway... One handed with his USP in .45ACP... While doing pushups AND eating his sandwich...

So that explains how I noticed different heal rates as a medic.

I love how this game offers value and substance beyond the actual gameplay online.
