    Borderlands Opinions & Discussion

As you may already know, Borderlands hit last week for the console platform. Well it just came out today for the PC and is readily available on shelves or from Steam.

Let's get some feedback on the game from those of you that have it and are playing through. It seems like a very interesting style of gameplay that is poised to be the next new hotness, or the next discount bin blunder.

    Let's hear it!

I picked it up today although I'm only lvl 4 so far this game is awesome. I love the way the guns fire and the atmosphere of the game. I already tell I will be addicted to playing this.

If anybody else gets it for pc let me know so we can do some co-op.

also at first you would think with cell shading that it wouldn't be good but it really works for this game and looks nice.

Been playing on the 360 we have thread on the 360 forum about it. Great game can't get enough. Addictive as hell. This game will fulfill anyones D2 lootiness. I've heard there are some issues with the game and Win7 not sure what they are.

Level 15 here Love the game, for D2 addicted players, this is a must. It's really fun, the only problem being the mp that doesnt work for some reason.

the game is a lot of fun, plays well, and is easy to dive into...it's a co-op role-playing-SHOOTER, with a strong emphasis on the shooting part...

The Good: it looks beautiful, absolutely stunning in some points...it also "feels" really good in-game, most of you know that I personally haven't liked the "feel" of many Unreal Engine 3 based games, that to me it's as if there's no weight or physicality when in-game, Borderlands has none of those issues...the weapons are also very good, while at first the selection is fairly crappy, it improves rapidly and you can appreciate the mechanics behind the game...

The Bad: while the HUD is fine (maybe a tad large), the rest of the menus need to be reworked, including the quest, inventory, store, and general menu (options, multiplayer, etc) screens...in it's current state it's manageable, but hopefully it will get patched to take better advantage of the keyboard and mouse...

The Ugly: it uses your GameSpy login, don't get me started on this...

yes, even the Steam version uses GameSpy...so it's worth going to their site and reviving your old account before you launch the game if you haven't done so already...

playing private co-op games with your friends seems to be pretty straightforward (I've played a couple without any problem), but people are reporting that joining random games off the browser is a nightmare...

ok been having a problem all night. me and a friend can not connect to each other. Ive tried everything forwarding ports and such. we can connect to other online games but not each other.

from the look of other forums this seems to be a problem people are having.
