Half Life 2 Shipping Date Update

I just received word that the new "unofficial" - read, "best guess" - shipping date from EB Games is August 2, 2004...

So for those waiting on an upgrade for that game probably have another 4 months or so (like me)...

Maybe Doom 3 will really come out in June (?)

Isn't September the 5yr anniversary of the original? Wouldn't that make sense?

just dont think about it...the time will go by faster. Im thinking september something...2006. Gabe said himself that he would delay it until 2005 if he had to, and hes willing to spend millions of dollars to get the game right. Sounds like a desperate man, but I have hope

EB games doesn't know any more than we do they are just making a guess. Especially since valve just made this statement

"We've already spent millions into this project, and we're willing to spend as much as we need to make this the best first person experience ever. If that means delaying the game to 2005, we'll do it without any hesitation. If it means sinking another $20 million into the project, we can do it. Rest assured, if we delay the game, it'll be only to blow your socks off even more when it finally releases."

This doesn't mean it will definitly come out in 2005 but it does mean that valve doesn't even know when it'll be ready. I would recomend not speculating until valve makes comes out with a release date stores like EB are just guessing, like we all are.

just what we all need...another game that comes in 5 or 6 cd's minimum (unreal tournament 2004 is 6 cd's....) that takes up over 5 GB of my hard drive....geez, they really force you to have to keep investing in bigger drives huh?

(assuming this will be a 6cd'er....i'm sure it will be tho...)
amazing how halo was all on 1 cd......most likely cause most missions were inside the hallway of a ship...they didnt need to go crazy with TOO many background scenes...
