    UT2k4 vs. Far Cry

I'm looking for a new game to use for my machine. I figure that I'll want UT2k4 cause I love a good multiplayers, but I've heard from some people that it's a bad game and from others that it's great. Then I've also heard that Far Cry is a great game. Which one do you think I should get?

Both are good. Far Cry is a much more pretty game. UT2k4 is a game made for multiplayer, and Far Cry is not. If you care more about impressing people with visuals, go with Far Cry, and it has a good single player game. If you care more about having fun, UT2k4. I dont see why somebody would say its not good.

Yeah, fun is my thing. And how's the single player in UT2k4?? Not that I'll be playing it much, but for days when I have no net connection (it happens with stupid ass comcast...)...

Well its just like the multiplayer mode. Except they try to make a real crappy story to it. The AI in the single player game is allright, but nothing beats playing against other humans.

Damn right. I'm trying to confirm my decision, cause I'm gonna buy my game, a good headset, and my wireless card tomorrow while I'm at work.

I'm definitely more impressed with Far Cry. Both have great graphics and look terrific, but I'm also really enjoying FC's storyline. To me UT2004 is a lot like Quake 3...run around, shoot'em up, run around, shoot'em up...kinda gets old after a little while. If you're big into multiplayer, however, UT2004 is the way to go.

Ok, so UT2k4 for multi and FC for single. I think I'll buy UT2k4 tomorrow and then Far Cry after my next pay check.

I'm in to single player stuff, I like Far Cry a lot better. UT2k4 gets old playing against bots. Multiplayer goes to UT hands down though. Depends on what yer after.

I love multiplayer (as was proven to me by how addicting CS got... (as well as quake and halo for xbox)), so probably UT2K4 tomorrow and Far Cry in early june before I go on vacation, then doom3 whenever it comes out, and half-life 2 whenever it comes out.

Well, I'm about to head out for work, so I figured I'd update any of you who decided to read this. I've decided that, despite the overwhelming majority, I'm going to buy UT2k4 today. But because so many people voted for it, I will probably go ahead and spend some cash on getting Far Cry in the next couple weeks. Thank you for all your help and advice, and I'll catch you all in onslaught mode :smash:
