    Doom 3 on CL56

It runs perfectly if you turn off the shadows. I'm running at 1024x768 w/ medium settings with everything else on, gonna try high settings later.

    Yeah I tried this

Might be placebo effect but I think fps increased. High runs well, only a few less frames.

My Doom 3 plays for like ten minutes then crashes, plays for 10 minutes, then freezes, plays then crashes. I downloaded new drivers but when I try to install new drivers I get the following message:

setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software.

What gives? Anyone know? I have cl56 1.8 dothan centrino, 512 ram, 9700 radeon mobility.

Can't be a placebo effect that tweak seems to be the same as using your bios Aperture texture to boost the ram usage for your texture cache and all... Since from most information the higher lvl of details are extremely heavy on texture ( uncompressed all ) it makes a lot of sense to see such a boost in fps. This will be so great, waiting for my lappy to install that awesome game!

I say that because the line above it

    seta image_useCache "0"
    seta image_cacheMegs "512"

Usecache would logically need to be set to 1 to make cachemegs work, but if you do set it to 1, the game crashes.

Reinstall doom 3, or use a restore disk.
