Doom 3 on Mobility Radeon 9000?

Anyone try running doom 3 on an m9 machine? I probably won't get the full experience but I'd like to know if it even runs at a playable fps. Also mention if this tweak was used or not:

    thanks!

640x480 low detail, turn off vsynch and shadows (or even the rest of the options if you wanna get a few extra fps) It will be playable. A faster cpu can also help a few fps.

It said you can run it in medium with a bit of choppiness, which doesn't matter to me. I play BFV in the highest settings, but it gets as low as 13FPS, but you don't see me complaining.

I'm running it in medium settings, 640x480, and with everything on(except vsync), and WOW, this game looks so cool, and I don't know exactly, but the FPS i'm getting rocks!

Loaded up last night and I'm rockin'! I'm running at 1024x768, Medium detail. FPS were sluggish at first, 10ish range. Tweaked the image_cacheMeg parm (it was set at 20!) to 128, 256, and 512. After initial boost to 17+ FPS, which I find quite playable, there has been no major diff between the various higher settings. FPS spike high a lot, and sometimes drop back to 10, notably when playing a recording. Other than that I have set Enable Shadow off and VSync on, but those remain to be fiddled with more. Too absorbed in good gameplay to fiddle with it now. Need bigger guns! The machine gun is not as effective as the shotgun so far. Haven't found the bigger ones yet.

Edit: Setting the "use image_cache to "1"" above the CacheMeg parm seemed to make the game shutdown, so I left it at "0". The CacheMeg still seems to be effective.

For a darkly lit game (which I often see as an excuse for poor artwork and detail) this puppy has LOTS of detail. Don't know where they come up with the machinery et al. The artists must be from off-planet. You can shine your flashlight in the darkest corner and find it's loaded with the same detail as brightly lit places. I shined the flashlight in one guy's eyes and he put his arm over his eyes! I was even looking in the mirror in one room and following myself back and forth. Whatta gas. I second the suggestion of many to play this game in dimly lit surroundings (I need SOME keyboard light) to get the maximum suspense and scare effect. Enjoy!
