    Doom 3 loading SLOOOW

    Just installed on my desk top 2.4Ghz 512megs RAM 9700pro and it is taking FOREVER to load the first scene. Is this normal?

    512 DDR 400
    m11 9700
    60 gig 7200

    how fast is your hard drive? ... that would probbaly be the biggest bottleneck

    his sig says 7200rpm, maybe it just takes a while to load it the first time and then it usually doesn't take as long afterwards

    Mine loads in less than 20secs, and i have a 4,200RPM!!! :eek:

    It has to be the drivers he has installed then. Some of the ones people were using, the 4.7s of Omegas weren't working.

    i am using ATI's drivers 4.7 just d/l them, no change

    use driver cleaner, then d/l the omegas and use those

    omega 4.5's are flawless.....also gives u vid playback if ur tryin to watch ur fav movie whereas the 4.7's dont
