PS2 + DVD Media

What kinds of DVD rewritable disks does the PS2 recognize? Anyone know? I tried 'copying home movies to DVD' and the PS2 wouldn't play them from a Memorex DVD+R.

Im not sure exactly, but the media disk shouldnt matter. Its probably file type issue. Like trying to make a cell phone play an MP4 (I know some do now, but its just an example) instead of an MP3. PS2 has limited file types it will recognize.

My PS2 currently recognizes DVD+R/+RW/-R/-RW generic brand DVDs. I have made copies of home movies for the PS2, and it plays them fine. Make sure that when you burn them to DVD, you convert them from DV to MPEG2 format. Any decent DVD transcoding/authoring software should be able to do this for you. I do it with NeroVision Express 3 (came with Nero 6). If you have any doubts, play the final authored DVD on your computer's player and check the video stream type. All recent software DVD players will be able to tell you this.

Regards,

zakaluka2.
