PS3 Pre-Orders

I went to my local GameStop (have been going/calling about every day for the past 3 weeks), to make sure I dont miss out on the Wii/PS3 pre-orders and there is still no news. However, the news is.. that appareantly lots of GameStop managers were flown out to Dallas, with all expenses paid, to learn about the plans for the PS3 pre-orders and to get them ready for this holiday season.

Probably not news to many, but I was told that Wii pre-orders will start going out soon, since they dont forsee having a lack of those, while the PS3 pre-orders have to wait since they wont have as many to go around, and the demand will be greater.

*crossing my fingers Ill manage to pre-order 2 PS3s*.... so i can sell one on ebay and make about 1000 dollars.

I know some stores, even large chains, have been taking PS3 pre-orders, but I want to go with Gamestop for some reason.

What about you guys, pre-ordered yours yet? If so, where?

i called two gamestops this past week and the rumor is they are taking preorders the first week in Oct... but im not playing that game... i did it with the PS2 and lucked out... im campin out on Thursday night and getting two myself... i dont care how lame it sounds when i have my PS3 befoe everyone ill be happy as can be... and so will sR when im done writing reviews

I'm waiting for Gamestop to start taking preorders. Hopefully it's soon or I’m going to be right behind Duke in line.

So, when i got home from work today, I couldnt help but give out a loud "WTF?!", after reading that GameStop wont be taking ps3 pre-orders. Does this make any sense to anybody? I just feel a bit ripped off since I always help out gamestop by buying their used games and paying for their crappy subscription, and buying their dumb game warranties, because I was loyal to the store and wanted to help out.

But they now turn and slap me and other gamers in the face by not taking pre-orders on the Wii or the PS3. Like Roided would say... (hit up notebookforums.com off-topic if you dont know who he is... ) F@@K!!!

Honestly, way to screw your loyal customers.

Oh, you bet Ill be there. I mean, I was planning on camping out even if they HAD done pre-orders, but its the lack of respect for customers that gets me.

Don't give in to the hype people. Camp out, pre-order etc etc. Do it all you want. I am willing to bet there will be plenty of PS3s to go around. Sony is not stupid enough not to inundate the market with them about 1 month after they release.

yeh rux, i dont care what inside info you have, theres no f'in way they're gonna have enough for everyone... we saw it with the PS2, we saw it with the 360..and we'll see it with the PS3
