$399 is a great price... but why come out with all these different SKU's? Both Sony and Microsoft have done it, and its getting out of hand.

But since we just got a new 1080p 42" LCD... this might sway us to eventually get a Blu-Ray player that also plays games

hey duke doesn't the 80gb PS3 not allow hardware or full support of ps2 games? Should I get the 60gb soon or wait for 80gb to come down in price around whenever it does which should be probably around black friday-christmas.

You're correct. This is why I bought my PS3 two weeks ago. I wanted the 60GB version before they were totally out of stock. I have a feeling they are gonna be sold as a premium on ebay once they run out.

Sony has a list of all compatible games between the 60Gb and 80Gb.

I'll have to check on the 60 gig ones near my house. And Duke - you mentioned that you can swap out the drives. Are they IDE or SATA or what? any limitations? Shoot, I have a 300 gig drive just sitting around :P
