Possible to download while watching blu-ray?

I didn't see anything the other day while leafing through the instruction manual, and I didn't have a chance to try this until I got a working ps3 today ...

I started downloading the demo for Resistance and I then pop'd in 300. I figured it would keep downloading in the background. I stopped the movie like 45min into it and the demo was only at 4%. Apparently it wasn't downloading in the background like it hinted at. Is there a setting I'm missing, or does this truly not work?

hmm i can download stuff and play games at the same time, i wouldn't see why you couldn't watch a movie.... ive never tried either...
