60GB PS3 has Hardware Backwards Compatibility, while the 80GB has software.

40GB has 0. (only PS1)

Speaking of which, how is the compatibility between the hardware version and the software emulation version for the PS3?

I might pick one up this holiday, and seeing as how I don't have a PS2 anymore, I'd like to get the PS3 with the best compatibility.

Looks like Best Buy only has the 40gb or 80gb model.

Even Newegg only has the 40 and 80gb models.

I bought my 60Gb right when they announced the 40Gb because I knew people would want the BC models. They're out there. But they are hard to find. You may have missed your window.

Yeah but the 360 has the same hardware and features available. It is possible to get all the add-ons that the Premium comes with later on. You can't buy the 40gb model PS3 and say, hmm later on I want to add backwards compatibility, the flash reader, and sacd support. Sony are r-tards.
