Anybody bought spore yet?

Has anybody bought this game yet and if you did how is it? I'm contemplating on buying it.

its getting mixed reviews. i really thought it was going to be an acquired taste with such a learning curve. i think its a neat idea, but way too time intensive for my available gaming hours.

I've been fooling with it at a friends house. Good thing too, not a bad game but not anything I would plunk down $50 for. The beginning stages are very boring and repetitive it might get better later on but the levels/stages I saw were just plain no fun.

yeah its really time consuming:| been about an hour and i havent gotten that far.. just had my whole race beaten to death by a bunch of monkeys lol

ya had that happen...then I learned how to make packs then I did ok until the next evolution came along.

I didnt think it was that hard to learn, a few things the tutorial doesnt teach you. I'm on the stage though where you get to fly around in a space ship, I think its near the end of the game

I bought it release day. The beginning is a little slow, but still enjoyable. The space stage is super intense so far.
