I'm not saying the BCS isn't busted, but UH isn't in the hunt until they get on a plane 5 times a year.

Very true. Hawaii played a cake schedule, their only real hurdle was Boise State, however, anyone remember last year when Boise State played Oklahoma?
I'm glad Hawaii got into a BCS bowl, but they don't deserve a shot at a national title, but then again, neither does Ohio State. Division I-A desperately needs a playoff, but the schools are making so much money off the BCS that they really don't want to change the crap system they have. The BCS hurts mainly the players and the fans who want a true national champion, not just who the BCS says is profitable enough to have a shot at winning it.
They need to ditch conference championships and BCS rankings and take the top 8 teams, regardless of conference affiliation, from the AP poll (I know, another flawed system, but how else do you rank that many teams?) at the end of the season and have a playoff in December to determine a champion. They can still have all the consolation bowls for the non-top 8 teams, so the schools won't lose money over it.
I know that idea is probably not going to please everyone, but I think everyone will agree, any playoff system will at least be better than the system that's currently in place.
